GRC & Terracotta Facade Panels

Concrete's strength without concrete's weight. Hanart engineers glass-reinforced concrete (GRC) and terracotta facade panels — custom sculpted shapes, A1 fire safety and 50-year durability for landmark envelopes.

Why GRC

Sculpt any facade form

GRC is cast, which means your facade geometry is limited only by the mold. Straight, curved, tapered, sculpted, ribbed or perforated — every panel ships as a lightweight composite with the visual weight of precast concrete.

Geometric Freedom

Curved, faceted, tapered and 3D-sculpted panels cast from custom molds — including double-curved surfaces difficult in any other cladding.

Lightweight

12–20 mm panels weigh 20–30 kg/m² vs 350+ kg/m² for precast — installable by hoist or crane with lighter structural frames.

Fire Safe

Non-combustible A1 class (EN 13501). Ideal for rainscreen cavities where fire safety is non-negotiable on high-rise envelopes.

Finish Options

Smooth, textured, sandblasted, colored or stone-imitative — with silicone water repellency and self-cleansing surface options.

FAQ

GRC & terracotta questions, answered

Glass-Reinforced Concrete (GRC) is a composite of cement mortar reinforced with alkali-resistant glass fibers. It can be cast into thin (10–25 mm), lightweight, complex geometric panels that mimic stone, concrete or custom architectural forms — at a fraction of precast concrete's weight.

Typical GRC panel thickness is 12–20 mm for facade cladding (vs 150–250 mm for precast concrete), giving a panel weight of roughly 20–30 kg/m² including fixings — suitable for fast crane or hoist installation and lightweight structures.

Yes. Both GRC and terracotta are non-combustible (A1 fire class per EN 13501), making them excellent choices for fire-safe rainscreen envelopes with cavity barriers and fire-stopping engineered per project code.

GRC is cast in molds, so nearly any geometry is achievable: straight, curved, tapered, 3D sculpted, ribbed, fluted and perforated panels. Finishes include smooth, textured, sandblasted, colored or stone-like surfaces. Terracotta offers extrusions, planks and louvers in earthy glazed finishes.

Mold-making takes 6–8 weeks for complex geometries; panel production then runs 4–8 weeks before shipping depending on area. Terracotta is a stock extrusion product with shorter lead. We include a detailed schedule in your quotation.
