Hanart Wins 6th Luban Prize for Senlan International Plaza (2015)

In November 2015, Shanghai Hanart was awarded its sixth Luban Prize — China's top construction award — for the unitized curtain wall of Senlan International Plaza in Pudong.

Senlan International Plaza, a mixed commercial development in the Pudong district of Shanghai, presented the kind of facade challenge Hanart has built its reputation on: a high-rise envelope demanding unitized precision, tight coordination with the structural frame, and performance consistency across a large facade area.

The project's unitized curtain wall was engineered, fabricated and installed by Hanart with the same integrated process the company has run since 1995 — in-house engineering, factory fabrication with full seal testing, supervised installation and documented handover. It was that full-chain discipline that the Luban jury recognized.

What the Luban Prize Means

The Luban Prize is the highest national award for construction quality in China, judged on engineering quality, technical innovation and social value. Winning it is an audited event: the work is assessed by experts over the project's construction and operation, not by application documents alone. Hanart's six Luban Prizes are the company's most externally verified performance record.

This sixth prize followed earlier Luban-winning work on National Indoor Stadium, Zhejiang Art Museum, Tianjin Airbus, Taiyuan Airport and Shanghai Synchrotron — each documented on its own project page.

Each prize was judged on completed construction quality by a national expert committee. Six prizes across three decades and four building types measure the same variable: a quality system that survives personnel changes, project types and market cycles. That continuity - not any single building - is the durable asset recorded here.

FAQ

Questions about this project, answered

It is China's highest national construction-quality award, judged by experts on the completed project's engineering quality, technical innovation and social value. Judging is audited and covers construction and operation, not application documents.

A single award can be a campaign; six awards across three decades demonstrate a standing system. Procurement teams evaluating capacity should read the series, not the last item.
