Shanghai Synchrotron: One Project, Three National Honours (2008-2009)

The Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility — among the most technically exacting enclosures China has built — won Hanart a trifecta of national honours across 2008–2009: the National Building Decoration Quality Award, the Luban Prize and the 60th Anniversary Classic Engineering Prize.

A project judged three times

Each award was granted for a completed scope and judged independently: the decoration quality award (December 2008), the Luban Prize (November 2009) and the 60th Anniversary Classic Engineering Prize (October 2009). The project also collected a Baiyulan Prize and the Shanghai Excellent Curtain Wall Engineering Award.

The full record is on the awards wall and the project file.

Three national juries, one envelope

The synchrotron is the strongest item in Hanart's record not because it won once, but because three independent national juries examined the completed works in different years and each awarded it. That is the definition of an externally verified engineering claim.

The building also demands what the awards do not show: vibration-tolerant supports, strict airtightness for clean-room operation and panel geometry held to millimetre class across a large facade area. Those engineering conditions are what make the certificate series meaningful to a technical evaluator.

Each honour was granted independently on the completed scope: the decoration quality award in December 2008, the 60th Anniversary Classic Engineering Prize in October 2009 and the Luban Prize in November 2009. Three juries, three years, one envelope.

The facility operates with vibration-sensitive instruments and strict airtightness, which translates into tight tolerance control, clean-room-grade joints and coordinated structural interfaces across the envelope.

Through the project file (scope and systems), the awards wall (certificates) and the qualification file. It is the standard technical reference in Hanart's international prequalification package.
