The Region

Facades built for the tropics

Southeast Asian climates are demanding: intense solar gain, monsoon driving rain, high humidity and, in the Philippines and Vietnam, typhoon wind speeds among the world's highest. Hanart engineers every system for these conditions at the local code level.

Wind & Typhoon

Design wind speeds per national code or ASCE/EN equivalents. Unitized systems up to 4.0 kPa with full mock-up structural proof.

Monsoon Rain

Watertightness to Class R7–R8 (EN 12154). Pressure-equalized joints and drained-and-ventilated details hold back tropical downpours.

Solar & Energy

High-performance coated glass with low SHGC (from 0.18) and ventilated rainscreen cavities cut air-conditioning load — the dominant cost in the tropics.

Humidity & Corrosion

Marine-grade alloys, stainless fixings and corrosion isolation at bimetallic junctions for coastal sites from Jakarta to Manila.

Coverage

Where we deliver in Southeast Asia

Singapore

BCA compliance, stringent quality audits and tight urban logistics. Delivered office and mixed-use towers with unitized systems and full BCA submissions.

Malaysia

KL tower projects and resort developments. Local approval coordination and duty planning handled by our Malaysia delivery office.

Indonesia

Jakarta and Surabaya office towers and airport terminals. Marine-atmosphere corrosion engineering and seismic detailing for high zones.

Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi high-rises. Typhoon wind loads per TCVN with impact-resistant glazing in coastal zones.

Thailand

Bangkok hotels and office towers, resort coastal projects in Phuket and Samui. Extra corrosion protection and hurricane-rated glass options.

Philippines

Metro Manila towers and Cebu resorts in the region's highest typhoon zone. Engineered to NSCP typhoon provisions with 250+ km/h gust capacity.

Delivery Model

One team, end to end — from Shanghai plant to your site

Design & Engineering

Single point of responsibility: structural, thermal, fire and acoustic engineering with local code verification by our Shanghai engineering center and in-country consultants.

Fabrication & Quality

Panels fabricated at our ISO 9001 Qingpu plant, QC-inspected per panel with serial traceability, and shipped packed to DDP or CIF terms with marine-grade packaging.

Logistics

Shanghai and Guangzhou ports give direct sailings to Singapore, Klang, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh, Laem Chabang and Manila. Lead times planned into the construction program.

Erection & Aftercare

Trained erection crews mobilized with local permits, tower crane and access coordination, followed by warranty and aftercare programs in-region.

FAQ

Southeast Asia facade questions, answered

Hanart has delivered facade projects in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines, and works with local partners in Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos. We handle export logistics, local code compliance, permits and on-site erection crews.

Our main fabrication plant is in Qingpu, Shanghai, supported by a second plant in Guangzhou. For large Southeast Asian projects we set up local satellite assembly and install crews, and can partner with approved local fabricators under our QA supervision.

From design freeze to facade completion, typical programs are 10–16 months for a high-rise tower, including engineering (3–4 months), mock-up testing (1–2 months), fabrication (4–6 months) and erection (4–8 months), depending on area and access.

Hanart engineers Southeast Asian facades on the local wind map (typhoon regions use design wind speeds from the national code or ASCE/EN equivalents), sizes impact-resistant glazing, and tests watertightness to high differential pressure classes. Facade design also addresses tropical humidity, solar gain and driving rain.

Yes. We deliver supply-only (DDP ex-works), supply-and-erect, and full design-build facade packages. Contractors and developers can choose the scope that fits their delivery model — with single-point responsibility for the facade in every case.

For high-rise towers we recommend unitized curtain wall for speed and watertightness; for the tropics, low-SHGC coated glass with ventilated rainscreen spandrels. See our system comparison guide and BIPV options for solar energy integration.
